Leopold I, King of the Belgians (1790-1865)
1860RCIN 2082490
Glass plate negative of a full length portrait of Leopold I, King of the Belgians seated, facing three-quarters to the left and gazing ahead, away from the camera. He holds a book with his right hand and places it on his lap. His left hand rests on a closed book placed on top of a table beside him.
The glass plate negative has been photographed showing the coated side and therefore the image appears laterally reversed. Prints from this negative do not seem to exist in the Collection, however a variant from the same sitting is represented by RCIN 2907576.
