12 - 12 May 1854

RCIN 2083671

lass plate negative of a full length portrait of Lady Harriet Hamilton dressed as Mary, Queen of Scots. She faces slightly to the right, and gazes down. She poses with her hands clasped in front of her. In the background is a table with books positioned on top of it. Lady Hamilton wore the costume at Countess Walewska's Ball.

The glass plate negative has been photographed showing the coated side and therefore the image appears laterally reversed. A print from this negative exists in the Collection, RCIN 2906577.
