Glass plate negative of a full length group portrait of the royal family posed around a bust of Prince Albert. The image features, from right to rleft, Princess Louise, Princess Alice of Hesse, Queen Victoria, Prince Louis of Hesse, Princess Beatrice, Albert Edward, Prince of Wales, Alexandra, Princess of Wales, Prince Leopold and Princess Helena. Princess Alexandra holds a framed photograph of Prince Albert.
The photograph was taken following the wedding of Princess Alexandra and Albert Edward, Prince of Wales.
The glass plate negative has been photographed showing the coated side and therefore the image appears laterally reversed. At least one print from this negative exists in the Collection, RCIN 2900743.
