Wet collodion negative | RCIN 2082663

Glass plate negative of a full length group portrait of the royal family posed around a bust of Prince Albert. The photograph was taken following the wedding of Princess Alexandra and Albert Edward, Prince of Wales. The sitters includ Princess Louise, Alexandra, Princess of Wales, Queen Victoria, Albert Edward, Prince of Wales, Princess Beatrice, Prince Leopold, Princess Alice of Hesse, Princess Helena and Prince Louis of Hesse.

The glass plate negative has been photographed showing the coated side and therefore the image appears laterally reversed. Prints from this negative do not seem to exist in the Collection, however a variant from the same sitting is represented by RCIN 2927087.
