Glass plate negative of Prince Frederick William of Prussia, later Frederick III of Germany, seated in a full length portrait and facing three-quarters to the left. He holds a cane in his right hand and a hat in the bend of his left arm. In his left hand he holds gloves. Taken at Balmoral when the Prince was staying at the Castle at which time he was photographed with his bride to be, Princess Victoria.

The glass plate negative has been photographed showing the coated side and therefore the image appears laterally reversed. A print from this negative exists in the Collection, RCIN 2906609.
