First draft of Cimean brooch for Florence Nightingale

Glass plate negative depicting a drawing relating to the Crimean brooch. This is likely a first draft of the brooch that Prince Albert (1819-1861) designed and which was given to Florence Nightingale according to a refference in the Royal Archives (RA VIC/MAIN/F/4/16). The final piece was made by the Royal Jewellers, Garrards.
The glass plate negative has been photographed showing the coated side and therefore the image appears laterally reversed. Prints from this negative do not seem to exist in the Collection.
