Glass plate negative of a full-length, group portrait of four men standing in a row. Their clothes seem to relate to the Balkans; the two figures on the left wear loose breeches, jackets with waistcoats, and tasselled caps, while the two on the right cloaks and pointed hats. It has been suggested that these are Montenegrin soldiers photographed in Cattaro (Kotor).
The glass plate negative has been photographed showing the coated side and therefore the image appears laterally reversed. Prints from this negative do not seem to exist in the Collection.
