WILLIAM BAMBRIDGE (1820-79)

A Private of the Royal Horse Guards Blue

Mar 1855

Wet collodion negative | 16.1 x 12.0 cm (whole object) | RCIN 2083112

6.5" x 4 ¾" glass plate negative showing a member of the Royal Horse Guards, known as 'The Blues', on horseback, almost in profile to the right with his head turned towards front, standing on flat grassy terrain with a couple of bare trees and shrubs in the background.

The glass plate negative has been photographed showing the coated side and therefore the image appears laterally reversed. Prints from this negative exist in the Collection (e.g. RCIN 2800729).
