    This glass plate negative, taken outside, depicts Princess Beatrice flanked by two people, possibly Princess Alice and the nanny, Mary Ann Thurston. 

    A print of this work (RCIN 2900137), shown on the right, features in Portraits of Royal Children, Vol.3, from 1858 to 1859. In the print, the two women either side of Princess Beatrice have been edited out.
