This photograph documents the construction of crypts at the Royal Mausoleum at Frogmore. Both figures in the landscape provide scale, and help illustrate the magnitude of the construction work which lies ahead. This individual photograph is from volume one in a series of two albums which track the construction of the Royal Mausoleum. This first volume, Progress of the Mausoleum; From April 4 1862 to November 16 1863, and the second volume, Progress of the Mausoleum; From November 16 1863 to March 20 1866, can be viewed in full online.
