GENERAL SIR CHARLES GREY (1804-70)
[Jan 1866] General Grey to Mr Fisher and Lord Derby
12 Jan 1866Loose manuscript papers | 1 document (8 pages) (whole object) | RC/H/1/21/45
Copies of two letters concerning the design for the Albert Hall. Fowke had considered the interior complete but not the exterior so Grey suggests employing an artist to complete the designs rather than running a competition to select an architect. Grey recommends Semper for this role as Prince Albert had held him in the highest regard and he had made drawings and models for him many years ago. Reports on the subscription list and recommending that an architect should not be added to the Provisional Committee.
