Prince Albert's Papers

Correspondence relating to the planning and organisation of the Great Exhibition

GENERAL SIR CHARLES GREY (1804-70)

27 Nov 1849. Henry Cole to Colonel Grey

27 Nov 1849

Loose manuscript paper; mounted | 1 document (4 pages) (whole object) | RC/H/1/1/62

Cole expresses his opinion that manufacturers should not be on the Commission, a view also agreed by Miltons and Alderman Neild of Manchester. He also thinks that Prince Albert's suggestion to have representatives of local committees on the Commission would be met with difficulties.
