Prince Albert's Papers

Correspondence relating to the planning and organisation of the Great Exhibition

LORD HENRY GEORGE CHARLES GORDON-LENNOX (1821-86)

16 Jun 1864. Lord Henry Lennox to General Grey

16 Jun 1864

Loose manuscript papers; mounted | 1 document (4 pages) (whole object) | RC/H/1/20/15

Letter concerning the impossibility of the Patent Museum Committee finding in favour of the South Kensington Scheme. Because of this the preferred option would be to find in favour of having the models at Fife House which would create a 5 year delay while the Thames Embankment is completed, thereby allowing time for views to change in favour of South Kensington.
