Printed copy of Prince Albert's memorandum 'Observations on the Application of the Surplus of the Exhibition of 1851'. This includes purchasing the Kensington Gore estate, placing on it four great institutions (raw materials, machinery, manufacturing, plastic art), a library, lecture rooms, an exhibition area and rooms for meetings and discussion, plus moving learned societies on to the site.
