Letter from William Hookham Carpenter, the Keeper of Prints & Drawings, at the British Museum to Charles Ruland thanking him for 32 photographs of the Raphael drawings.

Carpenter thanks the Prince Consort for presenting the British Museum with 32 photographs that he has had taken of the Raphael drawings in its collections, and tells Ruland that he has just bought a slight but 'certainly a true' sketch by Raphael for La Madonna della Casa d'Alba which he wishes to show him, and remarks that it differs from the related sketches belonging to the Archduke Albrecht and at Lille.
