WILLIAM BAMBRIDGE
Letter from William Bambridge to Charles Ruland reporting that he has finished photographing Raphael drawings [at the British Museum].
21 Aug 1861Loose manuscript paper; mounted | 1 document (2 pages) (whole object) | RA VIC/ADDA10/85/193
Bambridge writes that he thinks he has finished photographing all the Raphael drawings he was asked to photograph [at the British Museum]; a few of the negatives may be unsatisfactory and need to be taken again, but he will not know this until they are printed. Considering the difficulty involved he thinks his work has been successful on the whole. He praises Mr Carpenter's (Keeper of Prints & Drawings) helpfulness during the work. He adds that he is going on holiday as his health has been affected by his lengthy and stressful task.
The letter is unsigned, but it clearly relates to Bambridge's telegram, see VIC/ADDA10/85/190.
