Carpenter acknowledges receipt of five photographs of Raphael drawings in the British Museum, presented by the Prince Consort, and two of drawings by Leonardo da Vinci of the Virgin and Child and St John, one from the Royal Collection and the other in the museum, which must be studies for the same group.
