Clifford writes that he is sending a small box with 4 plates and prints of each [photographs of three Raphaels in the Royal Museum in Madrid and one in the Duke of Alba's collection] as requested. He asks Buchanan to let the Prince Consort know that the pictures are 'most unphotographic', especially as they are thickly coated with varnish.
