SIR CHARLES LOCK EASTLAKE (1793-1865)

Letter from Sir Charles Eastlake to Dr. Ernst Becker giving information about the collection of Mr Gray of Hornsey and the Esdaile collection of drawings.

6 Jan 1857

Loose manuscript paper; mounted | 1 document (4 pages) (whole object) | RA VIC/ADDA10/85/12

Eastlake states that the Gray collection was sold some 20 years ago but that there might be marked sale catalogues which would help trace the portrait mentioned by Passavant. He adds that the Esdaile collection has probably been dispersed. He will make enquiries about both collections.
