Lord Aberdeen writes that he received the enclosed application (not present) from the Lord Provost of Edinburgh when at Blair [Castle]. He mentions that Queen Victoria is Patron of the Zoological Society of London and discusses the request for her to be Patron of the Edinburgh Institution as well.
