ALBERT, JOSEPH; COURT PHOTOGRAPHER IN MUNICH

Letter from Joseph Albert, photographer to the Bavarian court in Munich, to Dr. Ernst Becker agreeing to photograph a [Raphael] picture belonging to Count Schänborn for the Prince Consort.

13 Dec 1859

Loose manuscript paper; mounted | 1 document (4 pages) (whole object) | RA VIC/ADDA10/85/429

Albert writes in response to a letter from Dr Becker, saying that he will be glad to photograph a picture in Count Schänborn's gallery at Pommersfelden for the Prince Consort (whom he mistakenly calls 'Prince Regent'), but that pressure of work makes it impossible for him to go there any earlier than six weeks hence. He presumes that Count Schänborn will know which picture is to be photographed, but if not, Dr Becker should give him further details. He did not receive Becker's earlier letter, which may have arrived during Albert's move from Augsburg to Munich.

Related Material: See VIC/ADDA10/85/378 for an earlier reference to Count Schönborn's picture.
