Letter from Gustav Waagen to Dr Ernst Becker reporting that he has discovered a new drawing by Raphael, and promising to have the drawing owned by the Princess of Prussia photographed for the Prince Consort as soon as the weather in Berlin improves.

Waagen begins by asking Becker to give the bearer of this letter, Herr Boulitsch, Professor of Fine Arts at the University of Kazan, a ticket to visit Windsor Castle and see the works of art there. He goes on to announce that he has heard about a new drawing by Raphael, a preliminary sketch in pen for the main group in the picture of Ezekiel's vision. It is in the possession of an artist in Berlin, and Waagen intends to see it soon. Depending on what he finds, he will recommend it to be photographed for the Prince. Brighter weather will surely be on the way soon, so that the drawing of the begging monk from the [?Spiker] collection, which now belongs to the Princess of Prussia, can be photographed, and he will then send the negative to Becker by courier.
