In response to Dr. Becker's answer to his previous letter (see VIC/ADDA10/85/209), Waagen expresses delight that Prince Albert will allow him to send him a copy of the lithograph of the painting by Perugino [in Caen]; he will send it via Ludwig Gruner. He awaits further instruction as to the painted copy he mentioned. He hopes to come to England in the summer to continue his work on the art treasures of England, and would be very pleased if the Prince would receive him.
A note on the letter records Becker's reply saying the Prince wants to buy the copy painting; he asks Waagen to arrange for its dispatch and to tell him how payment should be made.
