WAAGEN, GUSTAV

Letter from Dr. Waagen to Dr. Ernst Becker enclosing a letter from Caen regarding the price of the Perugino copy which Prince Albert wishes to purchase.

19 Mar 1856

Loose manuscript paper; mounted | 1 document (4 pages) (whole object) | RA VIC/ADDA10/85/212

Dr. Waagen forwards to Dr. Becker a letter (see VIC/ADDA10/85/213) from Monsieur Payen (the guardian of the painter Vieille's son - see VIC/ADDA10/85/211) from which it seems an extra 100 francs is required to secure the picture for Prince Albert; he suggests that Becker inform Guillard or Payen of the Prince's decision.

Dr. Waagen's letter is written on the second page of Payen's letter.
