CHARLES THURSTON THOMPSON (1816-68)
Letter from Charles Thurston Thompson to Dr. Ernst Becker as to the delay in completing the photography of the Raphael drawings at Windsor.
23 Oct 1854Loose manuscript paper; mounted | 1 document (4 pages) (whole object) | RA VIC/ADDA10/85/8
Thompson promises to try to send a set of prints from the negatives he has made by the end of the week for Prince Albert to see. He explains that he has had to have a new printing apparatus made for the large photographs, and it is not yet ready.
He has been away from Windsor because the new large lens he has had made in order to photograph the large drawings is imperfect, and Ross has been trying to rectify it for three weeks. He hopes to return with it by the end of the week.
