Incomplete letter from William Russell to Charles Ruland concerning two [Raphael] drawings belonging to Mr Longman, bought from Ludwig Gruner.

Russell draws Ruland's attention to two drawings belonging to Mr Longman, relating to the Conversion of Saul and the Stoning of St Stephen. Longman bought them from Gruner and later lent them to Gruner in order for him to make an engraving for the Arundel Society. Russell thinks they were probably photographed at that time, and Ruland could find out about this; but because they formerly belonged to Gruner he might already know about them. The beginning of this letter is missing; the date is assumed from its place in the bound volume, and the addressee is presumably Ruland.
