Imaginary' letter from T. Crome to Signor Botti, a contemporary of Raphael and original owner of Raphael's portrait of his mistress Margarita, now in Crome's possession, explaining Crome's reasons for identifying the sitter and attributing the portrait to Raphael.

Enclosed with a letter from Crome to the Royal Librarian sending a photograph of the portrait (see VIC/ADDA10/85/565).
