Dr. Becker writes that the Prince presented a collection of photographs of drawings by Raphael at Windsor Castle to the Musée Wicar at Lille some years ago. Two more drawings have now been found and Becker sends photographs of these for presentation to the museum. He enquires whether the Society of Sciences and Arts, of which Kuhlmann is President, would allow the drawings by Raphael and perhaps by other masters in the museum to be photographed if the photographer were willing to do so on his own account, with a view to publication. He thinks M. Bingham of Paris would be prepared to do this if permission were given.
The Musée Wicar consisted of the art collection of Jean-Baptiste Wicar, who on his death in 1834 left it to the Society of Sciences and Arts in Lille. In 1866 the museum's collection was incorporated into the new Palais des Beaux Arts in Lille.
