Dr. Ernst Becker writes that Mr Gordon, the British envoy to Hanover, has sent him Senator Culemann's letter (see VIC/ADDA10/85/436), and in response to the information it contained, Becker states that the (preparatory) drawing of the Resurrection for the plinth painting (Sockelbild) in the Stanze [Becker uses the word 'Logen', i.e. the Loggias, but probably by mistake as Culemann's letter refers to the Stanze] which the Senator described is indeed the one of which the Prince Consort wished to have a photograph. Becker believes he may have mistakenly referred to a drawing of the Last Supper, instead of the Resurrection, in his letter to Mr Gordon about the drawing.

The question now is whether the drawing can be photographed. In England, where many Old Master drawings have been photographed, this has been done successfully even when the paper was very dark brown. Becker does not know whether photographers in Hanover have much experience of this kind of work, but Senator Culemann will no doubt know best what can be achieved, and the Prince, who thanks him for his willingness to help, wishes to leave this entirely in the Senator's hands. He already possesses a copy of the photograph of the Last Supper in St Onofrio (which Culemann had offered to give him in his letter).
