Ruland writes that on his visit to the exhibition at the British Institution the Prince Consort was struck by a picture ascribed to Perugino, of St Michael triumphing over Satan, which belongs to Sutton, and which has a close affinity with a picture in the National Gallery ascribed by some critics to Raphael. Ruland asks whether Sutton would allow his picture to be photographed for HRH, to be added to his Raphael Collection.
