A chromolithograph reproducing one of the four roundels painted on the vault of the Stanza della Segnatura in the Vatican. Trimmed to image.
The Arundel Society published engravings and chromolithographs in the 1860s and 1870s after works by Raphael. The chromolithographs were produced by Storch & Kramer after copies by Cesari Mariannecci. The chromolithograph depicting Theology was issued in 1867.
The roundel reproduced in this print - which depicts the allegorical figure of Theology, flanked by two winged putti holding inscribed panels - is painted above the fresco of the 'Disputa'.
