A print reproducing a drawing which was at the time of publication (1767) in the collection of the portrait painter Nathaniel Hone. The drawing was thought to be by Raphael for the almost entirely destroyed fresco The gathering of manna painted by the workshop of Raphael (c.1517-19) in the basamento of the eighth bay of the Raphael Loggia in the Vatican. Lettered with attribution of the composition to Raphael, a Biblical reference in Latin (Exodus 16) and publication details. Within an imitation wash border. Published in Charles Rogers, A Collection of Prints in Imitation of Drawings, 1778.

According to Dacos (see Bibliographic References), the basamento paintings of the Raphael Loggia in the Vatican were executed in grisaille and imitated bronze reliefs.
