A print reproducing the Disputa (The Disputation of the Holy Sacrament) painted by Raphael around 1508-09 in the Stanza della Segnatura in the Vatican. Lettered with production details and dedication to Pope Pius VI (r.1775-99). Stamped with black ink doublette stamp in the lower right corner. Annotated in pencil on the back. Not in Ruland (1876).

Plate 2 from a series of 8 reproducing Raphael's Stanze frescoes, including the School of Athens (RCIN xxx), the Parnassus (RCIN 852458), the Expulsion of Heliodorus from the Temple (RCINs 852671.a, 852672), the Meeting between Leo the Great and Attila (RCIN xxx), the Fire of Borgo (RCIN xxx) and the Miracle of the Mass at Bolsena (RCIN 852703.a). The series was produced between around 1779 and 1784. The present engraving has been described as presented to Pope Pius IV in 1779, together with the engraving of the 'School of Athens'.
