Published in J.G. Prestel, Dessins des meilleurs peintres des Pais-Bas d'Allemagne et d'Italie du Cabinet de Monsieur G.T. Schmidt, Vienna 1779, plate 28.

The drawing reproduced in this print is a preparatory study for the left-hand group in The School of Athens, painted by Raphael in c.1509-10 in the Stanza della Segnatura in the Vatican.
