A facsimile of a drawing by Raphael (c.1509) now in the Albertina, Vienna (inv. no.4883); reproduced in reverse. Lettered with title, artists' names and then location of the work (collection of Pierre Crozat). Numbered in the lower right corner: 44. Published in ‘Recueil Crozat’, Paris 1729, plate 44.
The drawing is a preparatory study for the left-hand group in 'The School of Athens', painted by Raphael in c.1509-10 in the Stanza della Segnatura in the Vatican.
