An engraving traditionally described as after a design either by Raphael or Parmigianino. Only state. Stamped with the collector's mark of Peter Lely at lower centre (Lugt 2092).

Bartsch rejected the traditional attributions of the design, while Ruland (1876) catalogued the engraving as after a supposed preliminary sketch by Raphael for the School of Athens.
