The Arundel Society published engravings and chromolithographs in the 1860s and 1870s after works by Raphael. The chromolithographs were produced by Storch & Kramer after copies by Cesari Mariannecci. The chromolithograph depicting Philosophy was issued in 1871.

The roundel depicts the allegorical figure of Philosophy, flanked by two winged putti holding inscribed panels. In the Stanza della Segnatura, it is painted above the fresco of the 'School of Athens'.
