A print after the fresco Moses parts the Red Sea painted by the workshop of Raphael (c.1517-19) in the vault of the eighth bay of the Raphael Loggia in the Vatican. Lettered with Bible quote in Latin (Exodus14) and attribution of the composition to Raphael. Signed with the engraver's monogram at lower right (see Nagler, IV, no.2360). Numbered on plate at lower right: 31. On watermarked paper. Trimmed to platemark. Not included in Ruland (1876).

This print is from a series which was first issued in Sacrae Historiae Acta a Raphael Urbin in Vaticanis xystis ad picturae miraculum expressa, Rome, 1649.
