An etching by Pietro Santi Bartoli reproducing, in reverse, the almost entirely destroyed fresco 'Isaac blesses Jacob' painted by the workshop of Raphael (c.1517-19) in the basamento of the fifth bay of the Raphael Loggia in the Vatican. Lettered with Bible quote in Latin (Genesis 27). Signed with Bartoli's monogram (see Nagler, IV, no.3308) and numbered on plate at lower right: 5. Trimmed within platemark. According to Dacos (see Bibliographic References), the basamento paintings of the Raphael Loggia in the Vatican were executed in grisaille and imitated bronze reliefs.
