A photograph of a drawing catalogued by Ruland (1876) as being then in the Royal Collection at Dresden. This drawing is close in composition to the fresco of Abraham and Melchizedek painted by the workshop of Raphael (c.1517-19) in the vault of the fourth bay of the Raphael Loggia in the Vatican.

The drawing appears to bear the collector's marks of the artists Richard Cosway (Lugt.629) and Thomas Lawrence (Lugt.2445).
