A facsimile of a drawing by Raphael (c.1514-15) now in the Musée du Louvre, Paris (inv. no.3854). Lettered with artists' names. Stamped with the blind stamp of the 'Chalcographie du Louvre, Musées Nationaux' (variant of Lugt 1695).

The Louvre drawing is one of the three surviving fragments from an original red chalk study by Raphael for the tapestry cartoon of 'Christ's Charge to Peter'. The other two fragments are in the National Gallery of Art, Washington DC (Woodner Collection, inv. no.1993.51.2). The entire composition is recorded in an offset now in the Royal Library at Windsor Castle (RCIN 912751).
