A wood engraving which reproduces in one image the recto and the verso of a red chalk drawing by Polidoro da Caravaggio (c.1523-1526) now in the Musée Atger, Montpellier (inv. nos. ). This print is inscribed with the title and the location of the drawings. This print was published in the Gazette des Beaux Arts (January 1860, p. 133).
Washerwomen are depicted on both the recto and verso of the drawing; on the recto there is also a view of Castle St Angelo and the dome of St Peter's Basilica, Rome (photographs of the both recto and verso can be found at RCINs 854390 and 854391).
