A photograph of a silverpoint drawing depicting studies for various figures that Ruland (1876) catalogued as previously in William Mayor's collection.
Mayor, a drawings dealer and printmaker, published a catalogue of his collection in 1875, where this drawing was ascribed to Raphael. In the catalogue entry (no. 56) it is noted that the drawing was previosuly owned by the brother of the King of Spain and Dr Wellesley (see Bibliographic References).
