St John for a Transfiguration

Joannides (see Bibliographic References) interpreted this drawing as a nude study for or after St John in the 'Transfiguration' frescoed by Pietro Perugino in the Collegio del Cambio, Perugia (1496-1500). Ruland (1876) catalogued the drawing as in "peruginesque" style and as then in the collection of Édouard Gatteaux in Paris.
