A photograph of a drawing depicting a woman grasping the stems of some flowers in a vase now in the Devonshire Collection, Chatsworth (inv. no. 729). Annotated on the verso.
This drawing has been traditionally ascribed to Parmigianino or his school (Ruland, L. Venturi). Joannides (see Bibliographic References) questioned the attribution of this drawing to Raphael, while in the catalogue of the drawings of the Devonshire Collection (see Bibliographic References) is catalogued as by the master. The subject has been interpreted as an Allegory of Grammatica.
