A photograph of a drawing by Raphael (c. 1508-1509) depicting a study of drapery now in the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford (inv. no. WA1846.185). Annotated on the verso.

This is a preparatory drawing for the young man pointing towards the altar in the Disputa (The Disputation of the Holy Sacrament), painted by Raphael in the Stanza della Segnatura in the Vatican between 1508 and 1511. Another preparatory drawing for the same figure is also in the Ashmolean (inv. no. WA1846.184, a photograph of which can be found at RCIN 852418).
