A chiaro-scuro woodcut after a drawing related to the 'St John the Baptist in the Desert', a painting by the workshop of Raphael after designs by the master (c.1517-18) now in the Galleria degli Uffizi, Florence (inv. no.1446). This is an impression of the principal block in black. A final state printed from two blocks in green can be found at RCIN 851514.
