AFTER A WORK COPYING RAPHAEL (URBINO 1483-ROME 1520)

The discovery of Joseph's cup in Benjamin's Sack

c.1853-1876

Albumen print | 20.1 x 36.8 cm (sheet of paper) | RCIN 850185

A photograph of a drawing now in the Louvre, Paris (inv. no. 3851), which is currently considered a copy after a lost original by Raphael.

It has been suggested that this could be a study by Giovanni Francesco Penni for a never-realised project in one of the Vatican Logge (see Bibliographic References).
