A print after a painting by Giovanni di Pietro (known as Lo Spagna) depicting the Adoration of the Magi now in the Staatliche Museum, Berlin (inv.no.150). This print is signed and dated by the printmaker with publication details. Lettered with the title and attribution on plate to Raphael.
This painting was commissioned in 1508 by Abbot Eusebio Ancaiani for the high altar of San Pietro in Valle, Spoleto, but in 1833 it was sold to the art gallery of Berlin.
