A photograph of a drawing by Raphael (c.1511-12) now in the Gabinetto Disegni e Stampe degli Uffizi, Florence (inv. no.1474E r). A photograph of the verso at RCIN 851903. It has been suggested that the studies of the putti riding sea animals may relate to a project for a fountain sculpture, probably that for Agostino Chigi's villa in Trastevere. This view is supported by the architectural sketches on the verso of the drawing which have been described as studies for the so-called Stalle Chigiane (Chigi Stables), designed by Raphael and later demolished in 1808.
