A print formerly considered to have been executed after an original design by Raphael. It has been suggested that the inventor of the composition may be Giulio Romano (see Massari, in Raphael Invenit 1985, no.XLIV,1) or Girolamo Siciolante da Sermoneta (see M. Bury, in 'The Print in Italy 1550-1620', 2001, no.29). Only state.
The print shows the three-quarter length Virgin, sitting on a parapet, supporting the Christ Child with her right arm, who stands on her right knee and raises His arms above His head for the presence of a dove on His mother's shoulder.
